About Me
After many years as a manager in corporate finance I was made redundant in 2010. Although this can be a huge shock, I saw it as my chance to do something for me.

I have a lifelong love of animals and knew I wanted to work with them in some capacity. I started training in Bowen so I could then progress to equine and canine Bowen but I became hooked on the human Bowen immediately!
I was fascinated at the changes this gentle therapy could instigate, and ended up doing far more case studies than I needed to as I wanted to explore the therapy with as wide a range of people as possible. I qualified in February 2011 and am a full time therapist but that fascination has continued and even increased!

Whilst training in Bowen I also went to Leeds City College to study anatomy and physiology so I could be registered with Bowen Therapy Professional Association (BTPA) – it was, and still is, important for me to be a member of a professional body. As part of that course I am VTCT qualified in Reflexology, Aromatherapy and Massage Therapy. Also registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) I abide by both organisations strict codes of conduct and ethics. Qualified in emergency first aid and DBS checked, I am committed to continued professional development in order to provide the best possible service to my clients. Post graduate courses attended include Bowen Technique Treating Mothers and Babies in Pregnancy and Birth, Assessment, Kinetics, Body Reading, Understanding Parkinson’s – A Guide for Care Staff – a Parkinson’s UK study day, and Fascia Bowen based on the work of Howard Plummer. I have now also achieved my ambition to work with animals by qualifying in Canine Bowen Technique in March 2016! Some of my clients have asked if I will be stopping working on humans – the answer to that is a resounding no! I love being able to help make a difference to people and I am so grateful for that.

I see a wide range of people from young babies to octogenarians and beyond and strongly believe that every person should be treated as an individual and with respect. Everybody’s needs are different-one size definitely does not fit all!-and I always tailor treatments to individual requirements.

I was diagnosed as asthmatic many years ago and try to have a Bowen treatment every 4 – 6 weeks both for health maintenance, and to keep my symptoms under control.

I am passionate about the therapies and service that I offer, and always more than happy to answer any questions you may have regarding any of the treatments. Just contact me for a no obligation, confidential chat.
